I am an agricultural media relations professional based in Alexandria, Virginia with experience writing news and feature stories, shooting accompanying and stand-alone photographs, and designing multi-page layouts for full-length magazines.
My work has appeared in regional publications, such as Ozarks Farm and Neighbor, state publications like AR Grown, and local publications, such as AR Culture. I have also crafted feature stories and published photography for the American Farm Bureau Federation, where I currently work telling the story of the folks raising the food, fiber and renewable fuel that keeps our country running.
I have a strong background in agriculture, as I was raised on a family farm Eastern Kansas where three generations work side by side to raise corn, wheat, soybeans and show cattle. In December 2019 I received a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communications from the University of Arkansas. I also have a strong appreciation for and understanding of public policy and politics, as I spent the first year of my career in a high-level position within the government of the State of Kansas.
Outside of work, I enjoy kayaking and hiking, traveling around the country chasing fast cars, listening to red dirt country music, and spending time with my two dogs, Duck and Goose.
